The GOP’s on the verge of passing a bill that will phase out Medicaid in its entirety
“Senate Republicans are on the cusp of passing a bill that will eliminate hundreds of billions of dollars worth of health funding, destabilize insurance markets, and eventually phase out Medicaid in its entirety. Less than two months after three Republican senators stopped an earlier effort to strip away much of America’s health care safety net, millions of Americans’ health care is now in very serious peril.
The new Trumpcare legislation — often referred to as “Graham-Cassidy” after Sens. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) and Bill Cassidy (R-LA), its leading proponents — contains several provisions undercutting the Affordable Care Act. It eliminates subsidies helping many millions of Americans purchase health insurance on the Obamacare exchanges and Obamacare’s Medicaid expansion, replacing this funding with a less generous block grant to states.“ - Think Progress

Obamacare Hotline Works; Mika Shuts Up Morning Joe
In just 75 seconds, Mika Brzezinski, live on MSNBC’s Morning Joe, was able to dispel conservative anti-Obamacare lies and connect with an Obamacare agent — live on national television.
Although website glitches have marred the roll-out of Obamacare’s online exchanges, President Obama is encouraging Americans to call the hotline to sign-up, but some critics say that isn’t working either.
“By the way, we called the hotline on Monday and the automated menu redirected us to Healthcare.gov, which in turn told us to get in touch with someone at the call center,” the conservative Wall Street Journal editorial page wrote on Tuesday. “In an era where Google is making self-driving cars and Amazon offers next-day delivery for just about anything, the White House plunged ahead with a system it knew to be defective and is relying on the technology of the 19th century as the fall-back.”
“I got an agent! Hi there,” Brzezinski exclaimed.
“Did they refer you to healthcare.gov?” MSNBC’s Ronan Farrow asked.
“No, I got a live agent,” she said. “Alright, so by the way, unlike the Wall Street Journal, if you want to get through call 1-800-318-2596.”
Of course, Joe Scarborough, always toeing the Republican Party line, nervously scratched his neck and tried to change the subject with a joke about Chris Christie, which fell incredible flat given Mika’s quick and easy success in getting an Obamacare representative on the line.
